I gave Bell’s Two Hearted Ale from Kalamazoo, Michigan a whirl. Check it out below:
An awesome, well-rounded IPA that I could enjoy all evening. Here’s the breakdown:
The Breakdown:
- Originality within style (17): A great example of the style and a welcome departure from west coast style IPAs.
- Nose (17): Floral hop notes, some light citrus, and honey.
- Mouthfeel (18): Marvelous mouthfeel – full and creamy on the palate. Rare for this style.
- Character (19): Light on the finish, while keeping a substantial malt base. Awesome.
- Overall Quality (18): Been impressed with Bell’s, and this is no exception.
- Total (89): An excellent IPA that has a lot going for it.
