Cans are really fun. BeerGenius will be posting a few articles with examples of canned beer, and how awesome it can be – quite a departure from your beloved “Old Style.” Check out Ska Brewing’s True Blonde Ale below:
The Breakdown:
- Originality within style (18): This is a comfortable, rich-bodied blonde ale that stands out from the typical bland set.
- Nose (16): Subtle Lemon and Honey. Wish there was maybe a bit more hop character.
- Mouthfeel (18): A full beer that’s comfortable and delicious – you can almost chew on it.
- Character (16): Have to be honest – it’s not a very exciting beer. It has what’s expected, but not exciting.
- Overall Quality (17): Quality packaging (cans!), rich ingredients.
- Total (87): A nice Blonde that makes me wish it were more of a redhead.

Your reviews are great. It really drives me to find the not-so-commercial beers in my area.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks Trevor – I appreciate your feedback!
